Tonina is a caring and sharp-witted owner of an accounting firm where she employs her husband and daughter, keeping all the family’s affairs under her control. In addition to all her responsibilities, Tonina also cares for her mother, who suffers from dementia and is bedridden. Her younger sister Tajana and her family have a much more laid-back and less ambitious approach to life.
The two sisters clash when Tonina secretly buys a share of their family home on the island from their relative Željka, even though they had agreed to buy it together. A year later, Tonina and Tajana try to make peace on the occasion of their mother’s birthday, but tensions resurface.
The film had its world premiere in the Bright Future program at the 2026 Rotterdam International Film Festival.
