Queer Moments 2026, organised by the Domino Association, presents four films from Canada, Japan, Greece and Australia. The programme encompasses various film genres and perspectives, from social drama and auteur cinema to romance and erotic thrillers, and the films explore identity, desire, family relationships and tensions between the individual and society, opening up space to encounter experiences and stories that rarely reach a wider audience.
Bearcave
dir. Krysianna B. Papadakis / Stergios Dinopoulos, 2025, Greece
The film Bearcave is set in the Greek mountain village of Tirna, where we follow Argyro, an intrepid farmer, and her best friend Annetta, the village beauty and local manicurist. When Anneta reveals she is pregnant and plans to leave the village with her no-good boyfriend, a policeman, Argyro challenges her to embark on an adventure together to find the mysterious Bear Cave. But before Argyro can confess her feelings, Anneta leaves to start a new life in the big city, leaving Argyro heartbroken. In her new home, with a demanding and overbearing mother-in-law, Anneta soon realises that her destiny lies elsewhere after all.
