On Saturday, 11 April at 8 pm, the fifth edition of Ambientalika - an evening of experimental ambient music - will take place.
TeHÔM and the Cultural and Information Center present two iconic acts from the legendary Swedish label Cold Meat Industry of the 1990s and 2000s, as well as today’s French label Cyclic Law: Raison d’être and Desiderii Marginis.
RAISON D’ETRE – launched in 1991, the project is led by multi-talented sound artist Peter Andersson. For nearly three decades, with a large number of released albums, Raison d’être has been creating music with distinctive dark ambient, drone, and industrial qualities, recognised by listeners since the early days of the cult Swedish label Cold Meat Industry. In recent years, Andersson has primarily worked with field recordings and acoustic instruments such as gongs, cymbals, bells, flutes, pianos, various metal plates, and string instruments, all recorded and digitally manipulated to produce unique and refined sounds. Raison d’être stands at the forefront of dark ambient music and remains one of the most prominent, respected, and influential artists in the genre. Today, his work is released on the Cyclic Law label.

DESIDERII MARGINIS - Desiderii Marginis has been one of the leading dark ambient music projects for almost 30 years. From the very beginning in 1993 and the first performance for the legendary Swedish label Cold Meat Industry in 1995, Johan Levin, founder and sole member, has been exploring and perfecting his universe of deeply dark, but also deeply emotional and evocatively dreamy soundscapes. Desiderii Marginis' catalog includes over twelve albums and represents a consistently atmospheric and intimate opus, meticulously crafted using a wide range of sound sources - from analog to digital electronics, field recordings and acoustic instruments. The latest editions are now also available on Cyclic Law.
