THE GROUP OF SIX ARTISTS
Documentary film screening and discussion

The Group of Six Artists was founded in 1975, and its members were Željko Jerman, Vlado Martek, Sven Stilinović, Mladen Stilinović, Boris Demur and Fedor Vučemilović. The group was active in Zagreb until 1981 and, through their work, significantly contributed to changing the perception and understanding of contemporary art. With their authentic aesthetic, unconventional artistic methods and various, often atypical artistic actions, the members of the Group of Six Artists developed a distinctly free and rebellious attitude towards art and artistic practice. In addition to the Group of Six Artists' joint activities, the film also presents its individual members and their artistic practices.

After the screening, there will be a discussion with Janka Vukmir, director of the Institute for Contemporary Art, and Darko Šimičić, director of the Tomislav Gotovac Institute. The discussion will be moderated by Emma Sabljić.

The film screening is organised as part of the exhibition ‘Is This My World?’, which opens on 2 October 2026 at the Garage Kamba.

The film was directed by Gordana Brzović and Kristina Leko, and was produced in 2002 by Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT).

Duration: 90 minutes

Project funded by: Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb and Garage Kamba

Project partners: KIC, HRT and the Institute for Contemporary Art
